This opportunity is in the Information Technology Department.

Role Description :

In the role of Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team that lives by Safety National's Core Values of Relationships, Integrity, Teamwork, Balance, and Stability.

An essential function of all Safety National position is to fully embrace and represent these core values in our daily work life and relationships.

You will work closely with other departments within Safety National and directly with the Manager, Data Engineering. Your contributions of developing our Next Generation Data Warehouse will be felt throughout Safety National.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Senior Data Engineer will include being responsible for contributing to the administration of Snowflake environments and development of data engineering processes.

You will also contribute toward the development of our Next Generation Data Warehouse. Additionally, you will take direction from the Lead Data Engineer and Data Architect while collaborating with business analysists and project managers, along with internal customers, to understand the needs and develop solutions according to business requirements.

You will also collaborate with developers in development strategies and promote data engineering best practices.

In conjunction, you will work closely with Data Governance and Data Quality to ensure all development implementations meet overarching governance needs and quality standards.

Supporting the organizations Agile practices with previous SAFe experience is preferred. You may also be assigned various projects like, documenting program and technical procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy of information.

The ideal candidate is someone who has the technical experience to work with tools and platforms like Snowflake, Python and Git.

Having overall experience with databases, data integration, cloud, BI and MDM. Some of the essential skills required of you in this role are, having working knowledge of database architecture, understanding cloud technologies and implementations of such capabilities, being driven by desire to learn new tools and technologies.

Prior experience with Snowflake, Python and Git is required.

Qualifications : Education :

Education :

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any Technical / Engineering degree is preferred.

Required Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in I.T. of which, 2 years focused in Data Warehousing
  • Possess 5 or more approved certifications within job area
  • Experience in the following tools / platforms :
  • Snowflake, Python, Git
  • Working knowledge of database architecture
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and implementations of such capabilities

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Databases : MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • Data Integration : Qlik Replicate / Compose, SSIS, Informatica
  • Cloud : Azure, AWS, GCS
  • BI : PowerBI, Tableau, SSRS
  • MDM : Microsoft Master Data Services, Alation

The target salary range for this position is $107,000 to $171,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
