Job Title : Financial Aid Advisor

Location : Maumee OH

Sole Hire has been exclusively selected to spearhead the search for a sed Financial Aid Advisor for our client in the forprofit higher education sector.

This is a fulltime direct hire role.

We are looking for a candidate situated within a commutable distance to our Maumee OH campus available to work onsite from Monday through Friday for 4045 hours per week.

Position Description :

The Student Financial Aid Advisor is dedicated to providing studentfocused support advising students and families throughout the financial aid process.

This role requires a thorough understanding of financial aid policies and procedures with the ability to communicate these to students clearly prospective students and their families or support systems.

The Student Financial Aid Advisor reports to the Financial Aid Director.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Maintain a current working knowledge of the student enrollment and financial aid process.
• Provide advising throughout the financial aid process to prospective new and current students and their families or support systems.

Must have a thorough knowledge of available types of financial aid GAP options VA thirdparty programs and general student eligibility criteria.

• Counsel and advise students and parents on financial aid eligibility guidelines and available programs including tuition loans verification payment plans and thirdparty scholarship funding.
• Conduct ysis on students who have been selected for verification on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid to determine and request additional information or submit corrections as applicable.
• Complete igned duties with a high degree of accuracy to ensure compliance while experiencing multiple interruptions.
• Ability to read interpret and apply federal and state regulations and school policies as they relate to student finance ensuring compliance and deadlines are met.
• Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.
• Other duties as igned by the Financial Aid Director.

Requirements

Ss Knowledge and Qualifications :

• Customer servicefocused and strong interpersonal ss.
• Must be organized detailoriented able to multitask and work independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication ss.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience working in higher education is preferred.

Education and Work Experience :

• Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience in business finance or related area.
• 23 years of progressive working experience in student finance is preferred.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
