Job Description
Production Planner - Dayton, NJ (South Brunswick, NJ)
Working hours for the midnight shift Production Planner role would be 1130 pm 8 : 00 am.
Summary : Production Planners are responsible for planning, scheduling, and releasing complete manufacturing packages to the production team for the manufacture of finished goods to meet OTP (On Time Performance), integrated planning, work-in-progress (WIP), and inventory fitness goals.
You Will Spend Your Time...
- Reviewing planning reports and converting planned orders to process orders and align to customer requested ship dates
- Consolidating process orders and reviewing quantities based on any available blocked stock that can be consumed
- Scheduling manufacture needs based on equipment availability and requested ship date
- Checking for any shortages and communicating these material shortages to proper personnel immediately upon discovery to resolve
- Printing and checking shop floor papers for accuracy, inputting changes where necessary and prioritizing work
- Reviewing email communications to / from customer service, raw material planning, QC, other interdepartmental planners and supervisors / managers for any changes affecting customer orders, safety stock, replenishments, intermediate makes and equipment issues
- Ensuring all distressed inventory with QC approved bulk-off percentage is blended into new batches to reduce or eliminate financial loss
- Providing manufacturing support to resolve any returns from production due to inventory discrepancies, material transfer issues, reprints required due to label returns or paperwork loss or destruction and reschedule due to equipment breakdown
- Investigating with Raw Material Planning, Process Control, Quality Control and Creative, for use of substitute raw materials in formulas where the BOM's raw materials are not available
- Reviewing production schedules daily with production supervisors and / or lead operators to identify resources require to achieve planned production schedules and to eliminate potential scheduling problems
- Creating purchase orders and coordinating schedules with our outside spray dry and specialty chemical tollers. Monitoring block invoices and GRIR differences.
- Coordinating raw material shipments for our Flavor Chemical Production site specializing in high odor and strong impact materials.
Job Requirements
Required Skills
- Working knowledge of SAP, SD, MM, PP modules or other ERP systems
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal and presentation) within all levels of an organization
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, critical thinking multi-tasking with attention to details and following up
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred and / or related work experience in material, production or operations planning within a supply chain environment
- 2-5 years' experience in finished goods production planning and logistics
