Job Description : The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University invites applicants to apply for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Visual Communications ( VIS ) department to begin Fall 2024.
The successful candidate will primarily teach game design. Expertise in character design and 3D game design focused on player-centered design solutions with strong visual direction and interaction design preferred.
The main responsibility is to teach E-sports and gaming design. The ideal candidate should specialize in at least one of the following areas : - Game Experience Design - Interaction Design - 3D Design - Character Design The successful candidate will need to demonstrate potential for conducting academic scholarship or producing industry-related creative activity that will position the hire as a recognized expert in the field.
Participation in service and committee work for the department, the Newhouse School, and Syracuse University is expected.
