The Company
This company has been a cornerstone in the insurance, mortgage, and real estate sectors for over fifty years. They are currently embarking on a significant data modernization initiative and are seeking a business-oriented leader to drive transformation across various data domains.
The Role
You will oversee all aspects of data management, including cloud migrations, governance, and analytics across various business lines.
In this role, you will work closely with senior leadership to drive cultural change and facilitate the adoption of modern data practices.
Additional responsibilities include :
- Lead the migration from on-prem legacy systems (SQL, SSRS, SSIS) to AWS cloud, ensuring seamless integration of all databases and data streams.
- Oversee the implementation of Snowflake and integration with existing data sources, including Oracle ERP and Workday.
- Ensure that all data sources are properly cleaned, centralized, and accessible across their subsidiaries under the company's umbrella
- Establish and enforce robust data governance practices from the ground up, addressing past limitations and ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Gain buy-in from stakeholders on the critical importance of data governance for business success and future growth.
- Transform the role of data governance analysts from reporting to focusing on governance and quality assurance.
- Enhance the maturity of the analytics function by shifting from reactive data requests to proactive strategic insights.
- Influence leadership to prioritize actionable recommendations and question-driven analytics that add significant value to the business.
- Utilize tools such as Python, Tableau, and SQL to drive data-driven decision-making and forecasting.
- Design and manage a scalable data architecture to ensure efficient communication between diverse data sources and systems.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and other key stakeholders to align data strategy with business objectives and drive organizational change.
- Communicate the value of data initiatives and progress effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Your Skills & Experience
- Degree educated with a Computer Science background
- Experience leading teams of up to 50 across all aspects of data
- Business facing experience and ability to choose tooling and technologies
- Ability to work at a fast pace and drive change
- AWS experience a plus
