Join the Southeast Florida Accounting team as we take on many new and exciting projects starting in 2024 / 2025!

We are in need of a Construction Accountant to lead financial administration and fiscal management aspects of an upcoming project, ensuring that all team members (including Project Manager, Superintendent, and Engineer) are following Gilbane financial policies and procedures, and communicating any potential profitability or risk to management.

This role will have a regular presence on-site and in the office meeting with the project teams and subcontractors.

The Construction Accountant is a mid-level professional capable of fulfilling project accounting and project forecasting requirements, including day-to-day interface with project management, client and contractor personnel.

Responsibilities

Manage contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, Files, and Co Policies

• Produce timely and accurate requisitions and lien waivers
• Format and set-up project forecast to meet both internal and client reporting needs
• Manage monthly project forecast meetings and maintain accurate ETC for employee PCI expense
• Ensure timely management of accounts receivable and payables
• Manage the closeout process
• Develop and maintain positive professional relationships both internally & externally
• Review fee proposals

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
• 6-10 years with CM or General Contractor organization working on $25M or larger construction projects
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Proficient in CMiC
• Understanding of the overall project execution process, including budgeting, project forecasting, cost control, schedule, anticipated cost and project profitability
