Summary

Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress;

revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays while monitoring and reporting key metrics and KPI’s.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Production Superintendent for action.
  • Ensures paint equipment and booths are functioning properly.
  • Maintains compliance for paint waste and use according to state and other environmental requirements.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Conduct employee training on equipment operations or work and safety procedures
  • Work with other departments to drive continuous improvement efforts and reduce costs
  • Adjust the production plan in time according to changes in the demand plan
  • Maintain production schedules in department to ensure timely delivery to customer
  • Schedule personnel based on current workload and skill availability to best utilize skills and machines
  • Coordinate activities between shifts
  • Enforce the company policies regarding safety, quality, productivity and discipline
  • Resolves personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Support Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement activities

Adherence to Policy Follow quality environmental policies and have knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001. Adherence to Safety Follow safety procedures, security protocol, and wear proper PPE.

Education and / or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years industrial or paint experience and / or training;

or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
