The Opportunity
We are seeking a full-time AmeriCorps SolarCorps Outreach Fellow to engage with the outreach team and help implement outreach strategy to increase the number of income-qualified clients served in regional counties.
Outreach SolarCorps members will educate underserved communities impacted by environmental and economic injustice about the benefits and cost-savings of renewable energy.
Members are trained and supervised by GRID's regional outreach managers to support the Outreach team with Operations and Client enrollment activities in order to provide no-cost solar systems to the communities GRID serves.
Members with this experience may decide to go on to careers in solar sales, community engagement, outreach operations and other related roles.
- Support the Outreach Operationss department with the aspects of the lead management process including prescreening, marketing, campaign management and coordination, lead and project distribution, and outreach in target communities
- Assist and shadow Outreach Coordinators in the application intake process and support the team with application data entry in Salesforce
- Work with the outreach team and Outreach Co-Managers to keep systems, tools, and processes up-to-date and identify ways to increase efficiency and standardization in the NV region and GRID-wide
- Help promote community awareness of GRID Alternatives’ services and mission by researching, attending, and speaking to potential clients at community events
- Support the Outreach team to follow up with installed clients to help them better understand their solar billing with the utility and how to maximize their savings from solar.
What you need to bring to this role
- Must be 18 years or older
- 11-month commitment and complete 1700 hours of service
- To be eligible for AmeriCorps, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident alien of the United States.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to represent GRID Alternatives positively
- Comfortable being part of a team
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
- Strong computer skills
- After starting with GRID, must successfully register and maintain a Home Improvement Salesperson registration with the Contractors State License Board
- Interest and enthusiasm for renewable energy, community development, and helping families and communities in need.
It would be great if you also had
- Clean, valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Bilingual in Spanish

Where you will sit & the places you may go... GRID Alternatives North Valley, Sacramento, CA. This position may require some travel throughout the region.
