Job Summary :
The CU College of Nursing is seeking a full-time faculty member and energetic leader to serve as the UCAN Coordinator (Administrative Faculty Appointment).
Actively involved in recruitment efforts, reviews applications, interviews applicants, participates in orientation, and makes recommendations for admission of qualified applicants in collaboration with Office of Student Affairs
Ensures high quality, highly satisfactory, and student-focused educational experiences.
Facilitates student cohort cohesion, professional development, engagement with Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) students, and integration into the culture of CU Nursing.
Provides advising and refers to AMC campus resources as needed.
Collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Program to identify programmatic needs and other resources needed to deliver curriculum and enhance student success.
Coordinates with CU Nursing faculty, OAP, Undergraduate Program Office, and ELT to develop UCAN Pathway didactic schedule.
Collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Program to develop benchmarks for programmatic evaluation. Monitors quality improvement metrics, including the reporting and
monitoring of NCLEX pass rates.
Completes initial facility and program orientation of new faculty teaching in the UCAN Pathway. Provides ongoing consultation regarding CU Nursing procedures and policies.
Coordinates / consults with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Program and CU Nursing administration regarding any overarching challenges with students, facility, academic program
and clinical placements.
Serves as a point of contact for CU Nursing leadership, student and faculty needs through regular check-ins.
Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course outcomes in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the learning environment.
Provide education through learner centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of patients and meet workforce demands of the marketplace.
Encourage a culture of belonging, grounding learning in mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, diversity and ethics, as well as personal and professional development

Introduce students to skills needed to succeed in a progressive teaching and learning environment that incorporates ongoing innovative strategies for competency development.
Evaluate student application of knowledge.
Demonstrate basic skills in operating the educational technology tools.
Promote accountability among students by implementing clear guidelines and expectations for preparation, engagement, and self-directed study / practice.
Serve on divisional, college, and university committees;
Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative inter-professional teaching and scholarship.
Perform additional operational duties as needed within the scope of the UCAN Coordinator role in collaboration with the Office of Academic Programs and other specialty faculty.
