Position Summary
Support the WellShare mission as the Human Resource Manager who is responsible for the full range of human resources management tasks in a rapidly evolving environment, working closely with many internal and external partners.
This position requires skill in human resource compliance and human resource strategy development. Effective relationship management is key to success in meeting internal and external partner needs across WellShare.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration or related field
- 4+ years human resource experience, preferably in a non-profit or government setting
- Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with the program management team to assess and meet staff and volunteer needs for program excellence in a rapidly changing environment.
- Lead collaborative approach to the development of activities and measures of success to achieve organizational workforce development strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement best practices for staff career advancement.
- Design strategic approaches to promote the community health worker role along with other community health career pathways.
- Measure and report progress toward strategic goals.
- Ensure well organized and time efficient recruiting and hiring practices.
- Conduct research and lead development of job descriptions that respond to current market needs and opportunities.
- Partner effectively with external human resources partners such as universities and peer employment-focused community-based organizations.
Talent Management
- Collaborate with Management Team to hire, supervise and support diverse staff, consultants, and volunteers.
- Administer effective onboarding, staff training, career advancement, and performance management processes.
- Play a leadership role in maintaining a positive, healthy and safe work environment for all team members.
- Partner with leadership in performance management initiatives when needed.
- Lead organizational strengthening and satisfaction.
Human Resource Systems
- Ensure accurate and complete record keeping in existing HR database platform.
- Monitor standard HR processes such as annual review completion, PTO accrual, and training completion.
- Serve as HR and Benefits lead, providing some direct employee support, collaborating with supervisors on HR practices, and maintaining all employee records in a confidential manner.
- Collaborate with Finance / Payroll staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all aspects of staff compensation and benefit provision.
- Manage annual benefits selection process as well as vetting of external HR service provider contractor.
- Coordinate workplace safety and regulation compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Recommend best practices to maintain ongoing compliance.
