This position will require you to float within our Gaston County Kintegra Clinics and may require you to travel to surrounding clinics as needed

Clinical Medical Assistant Float (Certified or Registered)

Under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager / Area Practice Administrator , Medical Assistant Float position duties vary according to state law and include taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the provider during the examination.

They may receive direction from an MD, mid-level provider, RN, LPN and or the assigned supervisor.

Education : High School Diploma or equivalent; preferred formal education in Medical Assistant program.

Certification(s) / Licensure : Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant and Basic Life Support, Mental Health First Aid

Required Experience : 1 year of related work preferred or OJT for 2 years

Must have Phlebotomy experience.

K ey Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned and within the MA scope of practice. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to vital signs, procedures, and patient education.
• Assists patient in navigating care through the encounter process to minimize ambiguity.
• Accurately document all aspects of patient encounters required for job functions.
• Tracks and documents closed loop communication with patients, including but not limited to labs, return calls, refills, and more.
• Communicate with external and internal parties as needed to facilitate continuity of care.
• Fulfills supportive assignments on time and unprompted. Assignments may include but are not limited to performing controls, instrument maintenance, infection control, ordering, sorting, storing supplies, and restocking.
• Patient teaching and care plan support
• Guard patient privacy and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Actively participates in QI activities.
• Participates in staff meetings as required.
• Complete annual competencies within the required time frame
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing.
• And other duties as assigned.
