The Missouri Historical Society (MHS) is accepting applications from current students who are interested in digital communications and seek a paid internship within the Marketing and Communications (MarComm) Department for 2026 (January-December). This internship is in-person with a limited hybrid work option. This internship position reports to the Digital Communications Manager and works closely with the Digital Communications Coordinator and Web Content Coordinator.
The Digital Communications Intern will support the MarComm team while gaining experience working on a variety of digital communications projects. The intern will create and share content for social media (including TikTok videos and static posts), put together email marketing campaigns, and write blog posts, among other tasks. The intern will develop a final portfolio highlighting the range of communications projects completed.
Schedule
This internship is designed to last a full year, with the ideal candidate available to work with MHS for the spring, summer, and fall semesters. The intern may work up to 15 hours per week, but the schedule is flexible depending on the intern's individual situation. The final schedule will be determined with the supervisor.
The intern's responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) :
Research and write fascinating and quirky St. Louis history stories for the Missouri Historical Society's blog, History Happens Here
Create short videos about exhibits and other MHS priorities for use on TikTok and Instagram Reels, including planning, filming, and editing content
Produce, schedule, and publish eNewsletter content through MailChimp
