We are a fast growing, dynamic team providing pan Amazon design, prototyping and manufacturing support. We are seeking a self-motivated application engineer who is laser focused on solving for the needs of our internal customers.
The problems you would solve are diverse; ranging from assisting teams building satellites, to, solving unique, impactful problems within the Amazon fulfillment environment.
An ideal candidate, is always thinking on behalf of the customer. They can take on a customer problem statement and own the journey of distilling customer pain points into a design that is ready for deployment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years of experience in computer aided design (CAD) in a design engineering role with expertise in mechanical design CAD tools like Solidworks, Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated ability to apply design for X principles (manufacturing, assembly, cost).
- Capable of working with customers across varying degrees of technical knowledge.
- Customer focused and able to prioritize work demands in a dynamic work environment with multiple projects, project owners and competing priorities.
- Self-motivated and perpetually curious. Able to anticipate team needs and acquire new skills.
- Effective written and oral communicator.
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or equivalent technical experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in product development or manufacturing environments that spans different multiple stages of product lifecycle.
- Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing process capabilities.
- Working knowledge of materials, mechanics, structures and mechanisms. Basic FEA experience preferred.
- Experience with 3D scanning across multiple scanning modalities ranging from scanners for small parts to BIM applications.
- Prior experience with surface modeling tools like Rhino 3D.
- Capacity planning experience is desired but not necessary.
- Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or equivalent technical discipline.
