Tax Partner - Des Moines

Position Summary

THE FOCUS IS YOU :

We are looking to add a Tax Partner to join our team at UHY.

The Tax Partner will determine and formulate policies and provide the overall direction of the firm within the guidelines set up by the Executive Committee.

Plan, direct, or coordinate operational activities at the highest level of management with the help of subordinate executives and staff managers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Regular duties include (but are not limited to) :

• Develop strategy and direction for the company
• Confer with managing directors and members of the management team to discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problems
• Participate in staff development and staffing decisions
• Review reports submitted by staff members to recommend approval or to suggest changes
• Prepare budgets, including those for funding and implementation of programs
• Maintain positive client relationships and participate in marketing activities to build new business

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Experience

• 10+ Years in relevant position
• Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
• Management of Financial Resources - Determining how money will be spent to get the work done, and accounting for these expenditures
• Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions
• Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Negotiation - Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences
• Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times

Education

Bachelor's Degree

License / Certification

CPA License

Legal / Compliance

• Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document
• Government engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government
