Basic Function
Assist in maintaining and repairing various types of electrical, pneumatic, HVAC , plumbing, and control systems across campus.
This is a second shift position.
Essential Job Functions
Evaluate and repair system disruptions promptly. Provide maintenance or minor repairs to electrical systems and equipment up to 240 volts.
Provide minor plumbing and carpentry repairs to prevent damage to facilities. Maintain HVAC equipment by performing preventive and corrective maintenance including changing filters and lubricating bearings on a scheduled basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and experience in the trade. Must be able to regularly lift and move 10 lbs. frequently lifting and / or moving up to 50, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 lbs.
Must be able to climb stairs, crawl; and step and extension and ships type ladders. Must have a valid OH driver's license and insurable by the university.
Must be able to perform minor plumbing repairs including soldering of copper pipe. Knowledge of the standard practices, underwriters rules of electrical installations and HVAC systems.
Good verbal and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of computers preferred. Vocational training, apprenticeship or associates degree in is preferred. Welding experience is a plus.
