The Opportunity
The Accounts Receivable Accountant will work with the accounting department as a team member. The position will be heavily focused on reviewing contracts and grant letters in addition to being responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and creating invoices into the accounting system.
In addition to the duties listed, this role will also support the Organization as needed and support the accounting team with day-to-day operations.
What you need to bring to this role...
Organize, code, and enter payments into the accounting system, meeting tight deadlines for weekly and period close.
Create customer invoices
Process daily and month-end account reconciliations.
Prepare and process daily deposits
Ensure receivables are collected according to terms.
Review and evaluate contracts and agreements.
Analyze aging reports related to billing.
Address internal and external accounts receivable inquiries.
Communicate with customers and respond to their inquiries.
Monitor the accounts receivable email inbox, responding to inquiries and organizing messages.
Prepare backup documentation for invoicing
Process weekly check deposits
Assist in other accounting responsibilities on an as-needed basis.
Ensure that records are updated in multiple cloud based systems
Maintain CFDA Schedule (Government Contracts and Federal Funds)
Plans, coordinates and resolves accounting matters with other accounting team members, departments, and clients.
It would be great if you also had...
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Experience with automated financial systems, including a general ledger system
Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to carry out assigned tasks timely and efficiently
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle pressure well, self-motivated and diligent
Non-profit exposure preferred
Where you will sit and the places you may go
This position may rarely require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects such as company-wide celebrations, team building exercises, etc.
Availability to work nights and weekends may very rarely be required.
GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and / or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ($30.28-$33.65 per hour) , plus the benefits below.
