SUMMARY
A Financial Consultant is responsible for the sales and service of non-FDIC insured products and services to First Bank customers and prospects.
These products and services include fixed and variable annuities, mutual funds, stocks, bonds, individual and group retirement plans, life insurance, health insurance, REITS, Managed Accounts, Medicare supplement and long term care products.
Working primarily in an assigned territory comprised of First Bank locations, the Financial Consultant will work closely with retail branch employees to develop strong relationships through training and mentoring of licensed and unlicensed employees.
The Consultant must maintain series 7, 63 and 65 or 7 and 66 licenses, appropriate state life, accident and health insurance licenses, and Medicare supplement / long-term care license.
All products presented to clients are not guaranteed by the bank, not FDIC insured, and may go down in value.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- The Financial Consultant is responsible for the generation of revenue to meet or exceed the annual production goals set forth each year.
- Financial Consultant must meet the expectations set forth by program management in the coverage of their assigned retail branch territory.
The Financial Consultant must maintain regular education and training of the branches and employees on referral procedures.
- Provide support for licensed branch employees.
- Responsible for setting appointments with clients.
- Proper completion of paperwork and timely submission of monies and securities.
- Directing and implementing a marketing plan for the region.
- Maintaining continuing education requirements for all licenses.
- Tracking and reporting referrals and sales. Cross-selling of Bank products should occur and be tracked and reported.
- The Financial Consultant must conduct business with the highest integrity and adhere to the regulatory guidelines established by all State and Federal Securities laws, State Insurance regulations, laws and rules.
Advisors must comply with the First Bank Code of Ethics.
- Maintains advanced knowledge and awareness of financial industry status and trends.
- Completes annual compliance courses.
- Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws; including, the Bank Secrecy Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
- Adheres to all levels of our Service Excellence standards.
- Performs other duties as required.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge & Experience : These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.
Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
- Intermediate knowledge of Bank operations, products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct personnel.
Licenses :
- Required Series 7, 63, 65 or 7 and 66 licenses.
- Appropriate State Life Accident and Health License.
- Medicare supplement / Long-term care License.
Physical Demands / Work Environment : Vision, hearing, speech, dexterity, visual concentration. A valid driver’s license is required.
Must have the ability to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.
The environment is a professional office with standard office equipment.
