What You Get To Do :
- Conduct various regulatory environmental and safety inspections (i.e., weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) including but not limited to hazardous waste and universal waste storage areas, ASTs, generators, and other bulk containers
- Perform water quality quarterly sampling per SEA Policy
- Conduct routine water and wastewater meter readings
- Oversee hazardous waste and universal waste generation, bulk and sort waste as necessary, and prepare waste for shipment
- Escort and supervise various environmental vendors to perform service throughout the park and schedule vendor for service as needed
- Respond and assist with environmental incidents (e.g., oil spills), fire emergencies, and other safety related incidents
- Maintain EHS / Compliance related records (e.g., inspection records, fuel logs, waste manifests, etc.)
- Conduct Accident Investigations as needed; input all required information into database and maintain associated files
- Perform Environmental and Safety related training to other departments as needed (e.g., SPCC)
- Assist with Chemical Management program (i.e., SDS, chemical approval request)
- Lead fire drills and other emergency drills to ensure compliance with local, state, Federal and SEA guidelines
- Assists with EHS Special Projects and other duties as assigned
- Attend all safety meetings as required
What It Takes To Succeed :
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Post high school education is preferred
- Environmental, Health, or Safety related experience preferred
- Experience with hazardous waste / material management and disposal preferred
- Knowledge of fire safety equipment (i.e., fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, fire alarms, fire suppression system) preferred
- Experience generating technical reports and presenting information to direct superiors
- Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment and proper lifting techniques, and reporting of unsafe conditions
- Must have working knowledge of computers and applicable software i.e., MS Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Must have strong analytical aptitude, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple and varied tasks in a team environment
- Must be physically able to walk distances, bend, and lift objects of various weights up to 50 lbs, and carry a radio to maintain open lines of communication
- Must be able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines
What else is important :
- Knowledge of TCEQ, permit, environmental, and state / local compliance preferred
- Knowledge of SAWS permit requirements is a plus
- Theme Park Experience preferred
- Pursuing degree in an environmental and / or safety related field or recognized professional credential is a plus
- Completion in hazardous waste management and safety training preferred (e.g., RCRA, DOT, OSHA10, etc.)
- Experience with operating a forklift is a plus
- Must have a valid driver’s license
