A law firm in Milwaukee is seeking a Product Liability Associate Attorney with strong litigation experience and a dedication to advancing within the firm.
The ideal candidate will have 5-9 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in personal injury cases.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage all aspects of litigation from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and deposition notices.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on complex legal issues related to product liability cases.
- Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial testimony.
- Analyze medical records, expert reports, and other discovery materials.
- Collaborate with partners, clients, and experts to develop case strategies and trial preparation.
- Attend court hearings and trials as necessary.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation.
Requirements :
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Wisconsin Bar (or eligibility for admission by motion).
- 5-9 years of relevant experience in civil litigation, with a focus on product liability and personal injury cases.
- Proven track record of drafting pleadings, discovery documents, and motions.
- Strong courtroom and deposition experience.
- Excellent academic credentials and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and case management.
- Enthusiasm and ambition to progress towards partnership within the firm.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
- Background in engineering or sciences related to product liability cases is a plus.
- Familiarity with local and federal court rules and procedures.
