Purpose and Scope
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will be responsible for establishing and maintaining scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and important stakeholders (i.
e. patient support or advocacy groups) in the field of oncology, including but not limited to prostate cancer. The focus will be on providing scientific and medical support for our oncology products and therapies.
This role will give you the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic sales team and cross-functional leadership team. We focus on activities that support patient care and deliver excellence in health care provider (HCP) education and knowledge translation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with KOLs and clinicians in oncology and urology, including physicians, researchers, allied healthcare professionals, patient advocacy or support organizations.
- Develop and execute a KOL engagement plan for your territory based on customer needs and in alignment with medical strategy.
- Provide scientific and medical support to HCP based on identified unmet and evolving needs in the current practice through educational presentations, scientific discussions, and responding to medical inquiries;
as well as uncovering opportunities to partner or collaborate on projects with HCP.
- Collect, analyze, and prioritize the latest research and developments in oncology, including data on competitors and effectively communicate this information to internal stakeholders and external HCP.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, Market Access, and Clinical Development, to ensure the alignment of scientific and medical strategies with other brand priorities and overall brand strategy.
One key area of this collaboration will include the design and development of medical and scientific materials (i.e. slide decks, literature reviews, research publications, and educational resources).
- Attend and participate in medical conferences, symposiums, and other scientific meetings to gather insights and discuss key learnings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the execution of brand or company-supported conference activities.
- Develop and deliver training and support internal teams, including sales representatives, on scientific and medical aspects of prostate cancer and treatment options current and future.
- Maintain and demonstrate working knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, and the healthcare system to support the company and products in opportunities to continue to differentiate ourselves from competitors and provide best in class patient support initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific information to both scientific and non-scientific audiences in a concise way.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with KOLs, HCPs and other stakeholders and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a solution-oriented manner.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Business and financial acumen, with the ability to manage projects and travel expenses against allocated budgets.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Education & Experience
- Doctorate (Ph.D., M.D. or Pharm.D.) required.
- 5-7 years of relevant medical affairs experience as a Medical Science Liaison or Medical Director in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on oncology (e.
g., prostate / bladder / breast).
Strong knowledge of oncology, including current treatment guidelines in prostate cancer, emerging therapies, and key opinion leaders in the field.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual pay range $200,000.00 - $220,000.00

Tolmar compensation programs are focused on equitable, fair pay practices including market-based base pay and a strong benefits package.
The final compensation offered may vary from the posted range based on the selected candidates qualifications and experience.
Working Conditions
- This role is remote and based in the United States.
- Overnight travel is required up to 50%, to attend conferences, meetings, and business meetings with customers.
- Combination of flexible, remote work and office environment; requiring sitting and standing.
- Travel by air as required.
- Availability to work extended hours and on weekends as necessary.
