JOB REQUIREMENTS : Job Summary : The George L. Mosse / Laurence A. Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies (CJS) is seeking an experienced Outreach Specialist to join our small and collegial staff.
CJS is both an undergraduate program and a vibrant interdisciplinary center that brings together students, faculty, and community members with an interest in Jewish history, culture, language, literature, and the arts.
In addition to a major, certificate, and courses in Jewish Studies, the Center offers a variety of educational and artistic programs, including lectures, conferences, roundtable discussions, concerts, and film screenings.
The Outreach Specialist plays a vital role in the Center 's outreach, advancement, and fundraising missions by planning, publicizing, and handling the logistics of events;
helping to promote our courses; maintaining the Center 's websites; managing social media; and working with the CJS Director and fellow staff members in a variety of ways to advance the Center 's relationships on campus, in the Madison community, and beyond.
- The role of the Outreach Specialist requires initiative, conscientiousness, teamwork, and exceptional organizational skills;
- the ability to solve problems both independently and collaboratively; extensive and highly professional written and oral communication;
and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with UW faculty / staff, administrative officials, students, alumni, vendors, and the general public.
Responsibilities : Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community.
Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget.
5% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program 35% Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program 50% Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members 5%.
