We offer Grants and Commissions Program for emerging, mid-career, and established visual artists from Latin America; an exhibitions program showcasing works by Latin American artists and international contemporary art
Grants & Commissions Program Coordinator who will be responsible for the management of the Grants & Commissions Program and for the implementation of approved policies and procedures for the management of the Program and its records from past editions.
Job Description. Primary responsibilities.
Serves as the main contact person for NOT FOR PROFIT Grants and Commissions Programs.
Manages the process of planning and organization of Grants and Commissions Programs : sends applications, follow-up, correspondence with artists and Advisory Committee, preparation of materials for Selection Committee, organizes Selection Committee with Director of Operations & Collections, management of production of works, transportation, and artists’ exhibition.
Manages the Grants and Commissions Programs’ database (Submittable) of artists and Advisory Committee.
Provides materials and offer support to the Director of Operations & Collections for the planning of the exhibitions for the Grants and Commissions artists.
Serves as a liaison between the artists and the curators to resolve any issues related to the Grants and Commissions Programs.
Prepares educational materials for the Grants and Commissions Programs exhibitions and the Collection’s exhibitions.
Other duties as assigned by Director of Operations & Collections.
Qualifications.
A Master’s degree (preferred) or a B.A. (required) in Museum Studies, History of Art, Photography, Visual Arts or Information Management, with a specialty in art museums or non-profits administration or equivalent experience.
A minimum of two years of experience in a museum or art organization with an active collections and / or exhibitions program, especially in a capacity that requires direct contact with artists.
Ability to achieve cross-functional teamwork and a desire to function in a team environment.
Attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, manage multiple deadlines.
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Bilingual English / Spanish with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and database experience.
