The Role :
As the QA Manager / First Test Engineer at Cortwo, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our groundbreaking trust platform, which is being developed using Rust and TypeScript.
This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and technical leadership as you build the QA function from the ground up.
Your work will directly influence the successful launch of our product within months, and you will be instrumental in setting the quality standards that define our company.
Key Responsibilities :
Test Strategy Development
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive test strategies for large-scale network systems, desktop, mobile, and web applications, with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.
- Establish and promote quality standards across the engineering team, aligning with the high expectations of a category-defining startup.
Test Planning and Execution
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of test plans, including functional, performance, security, and regression testing, tailored to Cortwo’s unique platform.
- Build an endpoint test laboratory simulating various endpoint configurations and connectivity scenarios.
- Design and execute scalability tests for our distributed hybrid cloud infrastructure, pin-point bottlenecks and suggest alternative solutions.
- Ensure exhaustive test coverage for all aspects of the product, driving correctness and performance as core principles.
Automation
- Develop and maintain automated test suites for network, desktop, mobile, and web applications within a Rust-centric environment.
- Advocate for an automation-first approach to enhance testing efficiency, accuracy, and speed in a startup environment.
Leadership and Mentorship
- As the first QA engineer on the team, you will establish best practices and build a robust QA function from scratch.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality excellence.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Cortwo’s product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to align QA efforts with product goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate testing processes into CI / CD pipelines and cloud environments.
Defect Management
- Identify, document, and manage defects, driving their resolution with a focus on maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Analyze defect trends to provide insights and recommendations for improving product quality and reliability.
Reporting
- Generate detailed reports on test coverage, defect metrics, and overall product quality, providing visibility to senior management.
- Regularly update leadership on QA activities, risks, and mitigation strategies, ensuring alignment with Cortwo’s ambitious goals.
Qualifications : Experience
Experience
- 5+ years in QA with a strong emphasis on large-scale networks, desktop, mobile, and web application testing.
- Proven ability to lead QA efforts in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in testing methodologies, tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, Postman), and automation frameworks.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, web technologies, and cloud environments, particularly within a startup setting.
- Experience with CI / CD tools and cloud platforms, with a preference for GitHub and JIRA based projects.
Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team, particularly in a startup environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
