Seeking a Packaging Engineer in Hunt Valley, MD! This candidate play a pivotal role in bringing our clients bold purpose to life. You'll own end-to-end development and implementation of innovative, cost-effective packaging solutions across primary, secondary, and tertiary components.

• Job Duties :
• Lead and manage multiple packaging projects from concept to launch, including innovations, cost savings, sustainability, and quality improvement initiatives
• Plan and coordinate filling and packing line trials, collaborating with external plant teams
• Work with R&D Packaging to ensure component compatibility with manufacturing processes
• Champion cross-functional collaboration, communicating specifications, challenges, and solutions clearly
• Strategically phase in and out new components while minimizing downtime and cost
• Foster strong supplier relationships to ensure rapid resolution of material issues
• Own vendor-led projects addressing recurring packaging disruptions
• Conduct root cause analysis and share insights with internal teams
• Provide agile solutions for urgent packaging challenges
• Maintain detailed tracking and status updates for all projects
• Oversee blocked material disposition—whether returning to supplier or releasing to production
• Execute packaging performance tests including transit and compatibility assessments
• Document procedures via SOPs, process maps, and guidelines
• Requirements :
• Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering or related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in packaging development or engineering
• Strong sense of personal accountability and problem-solving agility
• Knowledge across packaging materials and systems including BOMs, specs, and technical drawings
• Effective communicator able to present technical data to various stakeholders
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP

This role is currently set for a 3-6 month contract with the opportunity for extension or opportunity to be brought on permanent (pending performance).

Hourly rate $25-$30 / hr.
