ROLE SUMMARY :
As a Vocational Instructor at Boone Center, Inc, you will have the incredible opportunity to design, deliver, and assess training that empowers adults with disabilities for exciting career opportunities.
Your expertise will be the key to unlocking their potential in Hospitality, Manufacturing, Health Care & Social Assistance, Warehouse Operations, and more through on-site and on-the-job training.

- Empowering Success : Developing and teaching engaging vocational and soft skills courses that prepare students for thriving careers.
- Championing Progress : Monitoring student progress and celebrating their achievements as they complete employment-related tasks.
- Mentoring Excellence : Being a mentor, coach, and motivator for a diverse group of students, helping them find their unique paths to success.
- Creating a Positive Learning Space : Crafting an inspiring and inclusive learning environment where every student can grow.
- Exceptional Record-Keeping : Maintaining detailed records of student performance, skills, and attendance.
- Prioritizing Safety : Ensuring safety by keeping the work environment clean, safe, and compliant with industry standards.
- Resourceful Adaptation : Developing and updating materials and training aids to keep our programs cutting-edge.
- Shaping Curriculum : Playing a vital role in shaping our curriculum and syllabi to meet the needs of our students.
- Building Industry Relationships : Building and maintaining strong relationships with industry partners, ensuring our programs align with their needs.
- Supporting Careers : Offering ongoing support to our graduates and employment clients, helping them retain their jobs.
- Providing Expert Job Coaching : Offering expert on-site job coaching to students.
- Making Great First Impressions : Participating in intake meetings with prospective students and family members.
- Guiding Hiring Success : Determining employment partner requirements and guiding prospective students and clients to meet them.
- Mastering Effective Communication : Excelling in communication with students and clients, as well as families, guardians, service providers, funders, and BCI staff.
- Evaluating for Improvement : Regularly evaluating and enhancing our program to ensure student success.
- Exploring Growth Opportunities : Keeping an eye on the local job market, exploring new program opportunities and growth.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Three or more years of related work experience.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding presentation skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, including meeting deadlines.
LOCATION : On site and in the Greater St. Charles area
SCHEDULE : Monday - Friday : 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm - Please note, this will not be an every week position.
COMPENSATION : $22 - $23 per hour
