Position Summary
The Surgical First Assistant will plan, implement, and evaluate surgical patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
Position Requirements
- High school graduate
- Must respond to hospital within thirty minutes for "on call" requirements
- Previous First Assist experience or one year scrub tech experience
Performance Standards
- Collaborate with surgical team members to effectively coordinate patient care
- Ensure safe anatomical positioning based on patient and surgeon needs
- Handle medications and solutions safely and in accordance with hospital policies
- Facilitate staff development and training of new personnel
