Shenandoah University’s School of Business is accepting applications for a new Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Dean.
This will be a full time position, with benefits, located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.
We seek an energetic and enthusiastic individual ready to join a vibrant leadership team. Reporting to the dean of the School of Business, primary responsibilities include :
- Providing administrative support to Office of the Dean in the School of Business, including professional communications, arranging and planning meetings, and clerical support.
- Serving as the front-line receptionist for the Office of the Dean, which includes the Dean and Associate Dean for the School of Business
- Coordinating / scheduling meetings for School of Business executive leadership team
- Managing tasks related to expenses, budgetary spending, and the operations of the school
- Attending faculty meetings and recording minutes
- Serving as building manager for Halpin-Harrison Hall
- Planning and coordinating school events
- Supervising work study students in the Office of the Dean
Required Skills
Qualifications : A High School Diploma / GED is required; 1-3 years of relevant administrative experience is preferred; College degree or courses relevant to position are also preferred.
The following skills, knowledge, and abilities are also required :
1. Outstanding administrative, organizational, and communication (oral and written) skills
2. Mastery of essential computer applications, including Google suite applications (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets)
3. Ability to work independently as a problem-solver and creatively as a self-starter
4. Enthusiasm for the mission of the School of Business and its programs
5. Collaborative skills and the ability to work as a member of a team
