Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities :
- Develops and executes strategies to optimize vegetation management programs for electric distribution and transmission facilities.
- Leverages best-in-class technology to ensure cost-effective vegetation management programs that deliver customers maximum reliability for vegetation investment, while ensuring all industry codes, standards, and regulations are satisfied.
- Technologies include use of ground, air, and satellite-based imaging, advanced analytics, and machine-learning models to optimize execution.
- Utilizes knowledge of contracting structures and strategies to optimize contractor and company labor costs for work performed.
- Leads change of business processes, contractual structures, organizational design, and regulatory language as needed to achieve optimal vegetation program execution.
- Develops, administers, and controls $45 million annual budget, including vegetation programs related to routine trimming, new business, storm restoration support, etc.
- Provides leadership to the vegetation team members to ensure individual contribution and team success support corporate goals by communicating the overall direction and performance expectations.
- Responsible for the performance and safe work execution of tree contractors with over 600 contract employees on site.
- Promotes customer satisfaction by providing an effective interface with both internal and external customers.
- Manages external stakeholders to LGE-KU’s vegetation management programs, including local and state officials and regulators as needed.
- This includes working with company External Affairs, Rates & Regulatory, Legal, etc. as needed to influence regulation, commission policy, and filed program documentation where necessary to optimize execution of vegetation management programs.
- All other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Position may be located in Louisville, KY or Lexington, KY
Educational Experience :
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or data analytics disciplines with a minimum 5 years' experience in Project, Contract, Engineering, Constructions or Operations Management or a Master's Degree in one of these disciplines with a minimum of 2 years of project management experience Strong skill set around budgeting, cost control, scheduling, reporting and writing skills experience.
Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization Proven leadership ability in a high performance culture.
Special Qualifications :
Master's degree in business, engineering, or data analytics disciplines Proven high-level management skills in coaching and facilitating business competency Knowledge of all matters concerning herbicides, and arboriculture.
Work Conditions :
Equally balanced between an office environment and field work. The field work requires frequent walking and climbing. Exposure to dirt, heat, cold, etc.
while in the field. Must be able and willing to travel.
Physical Efforts :
Primarily sitting while in office. Standing or walking while in the field. Capable of walking on uneven terrain for long distances.
