Lakeshore Talent is seeking a skilled and strategic Oil and Gas Accounting Relationship Manager to serve as the primary liaison between the accounting department and various business units, joint venture partners, and external stakeholders.
The right candidate would have extensive accounting experience within oil and gas applications to bring a deep understanding of the technology needs of the department.
Location : Applicants will need to be located in Denver, CO (Remote flexibility with occasional in office requirements)
Pay : $110,000 - $150,000 / year, depending on experience

This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless communication, addressing financial and accounting inquiries, and promoting effective collaboration on critical financial projects within the oil and gas industry.
The ideal candidate in addition to a strong accounting background would also bring excellent relationship management skills and an in-depth understanding of oil and gas operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Stakeholder Engagement : Act as the main point of contact between the accounting department and internal departments (operations, land management, legal) and external partners, including joint venture partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Financial Coordination and Reporting : Collaborate with finance teams to deliver clear, accurate financial statements, Joint Interest Billing (JIB) reports, revenue analysis, and production accounting data to stakeholders.
- Process Improvement and Alignment : Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations, ensuring all accounting activities align with company goals and industry standards.
- Compliance and Risk Management : Monitor and address compliance with accounting standards, industry regulations (GAAP, FERC, SEC), and corporate policies, helping to mitigate risks through proactive management and coordination.
- Project Management : Lead financial projects, such as new accounting system implementations, process changes, or audit preparations, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient completion.
- Issue Resolution : Quickly address and resolve financial discrepancies, questions about invoices, production volumes, or JIB allocations, and other issues that may arise from partners or stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting Support : Work with financial planners to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing insights and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Training and Development : Educate internal stakeholders and partners on accounting processes, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to their roles.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas accounting or financial management
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in oil and gas accounting software (e.g., Quorum, Enertia) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Comprehensive Experience : Experience in Accounting / Financial, HR, and / or Legal software applications, data, and reporting tools;
including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Freshbooks; Workday, ADP, SAP, Gusto; LexisNexis, Clio, MyCase.
- Certifications : CPA, CMA, or CIMA certification is preferred but not required.
- Communication Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills : Strong relationship-building skills, conflict resolution expertise, and an understanding of cultural and business dynamics within joint ventures and partnerships.
- Analytical Skills : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Organizational Skills : Strong project management abilities, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
