Purchasing & Procurement Specialist
Our company is located in Miami / Kendall. The company is a family-owned business and has been in operation for over 40 years.
We dedicate ourselves to selling and servicing large commercial diesel engines for mostly marine applications. We service them worldwide.
With offices in Panama, Ecuador, Peru, and Spain.
Our location has approx. 15,000 square feet of warehouse and 4,000 square feet of Office space. We built the building for our use in 2018.
Purchasing & Procurement Specialist have to be knowledgable in the business and have excellent knowledge about the different vendors and products sold by our Client.
They are the main contact with our established customers that need to purchase parts as well as any new customers that are looking for GE Marine parts in their territory.
They are responsible for sending out quotes and following up on them until purchase order is received from client, making sure that correct terms, margins and vendor lead time's are used according to the company's policies and current conditions dictated by financial department.
They are responsible for creating purchase orders to our vendors and reviewing that we are getting the best price available according to the company's policies and current conditions dictated by financial department.
Responsibilities :
- Receive all RFQ's from new and existing clients and create and send quotes accordingly, also declining to quote when necessary, always following management's directives.
- Follow up on quotations sent until a valid purchase order is received from the customer. Make sure that the purchase order is correct and representing of what was offered initially
- Create a Sales Order in the system which will initiate the internal sales process. Ensure that details are added when creating the SO's as these details will dictate the rest of the sales process for each department.
- Keep a good relationship with Vendors and always be up to date with their unique processes and requirements. monitor Vendor's response time and performance.
- Create PO's for vendor processing and follow up.
- Logistics : Add shipping or pick up info to sales orders when possible at the point of sale.
- Global Operations : Assist with any special projects and support all continuous improvement initiatives
- Warehouse : Assist with any details or information needed about specific parts being exported or imported
- Warehouse : Work closely with sales order fulfillment specialist to ensure promise dates are made
- Vendors : Make sure company is in good standing with vendors by maintaining a courteous and productive relationship with each one.
Make sure to direct any communication in the right direction.
Clients : Keep a good relationship with all customers ensuring there is always prompt and timely communication and address their needs and concerns.
REQUIREMENTS :
- College degree completed or in process, in business, logistics, sales, or similar areas preferred but not required
- Sales, business administration, technical sales
- At least 3 years of related experience in similar roles, technical experience in the marine field preferred
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office Package, Quickbooks
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral, teamwork, attention to detail, interest in continuous process improvement
- Advanced English, advanced Spanish
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 Per Year
