Responsibilities :
- Facilitative leader accountable for process improvements yielding bottom-line productivity as well setting the framework for a culture of Continuous Improvement;
- Drive lean six sigma transformation across all company businesses, including deployment strategy, planning, training, coaching, project management, structured problem solving and tool development while managing all activities associated with the design, implementation and sustainment of lean production and management systems;
- Collaborate with all departments to prioritize, select, and resource projects critical to achieving departmental goals for customer satisfaction, operating KPI targets and year-over-year, bottom-line benefits;
- lead, manage and coach corporate-wide improvement projects and initiatives; Facilitate change and support the deployment, adoption and sustainment of lean thinking and a Lean-based Management System;
- teach and coach lean leadership principles and behaviors; Lead and drive Continuous Improvement projects and activities to meet operational objectives, including cost improvement projects and value stream improvement;
- Execute CI by defining improvement goals; establishing accountability through metrics; use Lean Six Sigma tools / techniques to improve processes / business results;
- Facilitate the definition of project charter including scope, objectives, resources and timeline, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility;
- Teach, facilitate, coach, and ensure adherence to established standards for value stream mapping / analysis, kaizen improvement (workshops and daily kaizen) and 5S (workshops, daily improvement, and sustainment);
- make decisions about the design of value stream analyses and kaizen workshops; Guide project leaders and teams through application of lean six sigma tools and techniques;
- coach and mentor green belt and yellow belt candidates and participate in daily problem-solving activities with focus on knowledge transfer;
- Teach and coach standardized work development, documentation, training, adherence, improvement, and management; Constantly seek to identify, share, and facilitate adoption of best practices to eliminate waste and improve performance;
- Present, educate, train, and facilitate at all levels and to external audiences; Evaluate and revise training materials and supporting tools as needed;
and Support day-to-day operation of the Truck-Lite / Clarience Operational Strategy department.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, or foreign degree equivalent, plus 5 years of post-bachelor’s progressively responsible experience as a Lean Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer, or Industrial Engineer, or Manufacturing Systems Engineer;
OR Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, or foreign degree equivalent, plus 3 years of experience as a Lean Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer, or Industrial Engineer, or Manufacturing Systems Engineer.
Experience must include Experience must include : Continuous Process Improvement, Line Balancing and Visual Management, Minitab, Simul8, Plan Base Hoshin, Statistics and data analysis and visualization using MiniTab and Tableau (or similar software), DMAIC methodology applied to process design or process improvement in production environment.
Experience may be obtained concurrently.
