Our client is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to oversee the sales of their Mechanical Surface Characterization Instruments in the Midwestern states.
These instruments include nano-indentation, scratch testing, and tribology. Ideally, the candidate will be based near Chicago, although other locations near major airports may be considered.
The salary for this position ranges from $92,000 to $105,000, depending on experience. In addition to base salary, the company offers an uncapped commission plan that pays monthly from the very first dollar and accelerates after reaching sales goals.
They also provide full benefits, profit sharing bonuses, a monthly car allowance with mileage reimbursement, and a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years.
There is also a sign-on bonus opportunity available.
Responsibilities for this role include :
- Identifying and cultivating new accounts while effectively managing existing ones.
- Delivering presentations to audiences of various sizes, including C-suite executives, production managers, and technicians.
- Qualifying opportunities, developing proposals, and successfully closing sales.
Key skills and qualifications required :
- Prior experience of at least 2 years in sales of capital equipment, with a preference for experience in analytical instruments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently with a strong commitment to providing customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in a natural sciences or engineering field.
- Willingness to travel extensively, with overnight stays potentially comprising up to 75% of working time.
- Valid driver's license and passport.
