Summary :
Using a data-driven approach, the Health Equity Scientist contributes to Health Equity projects and initiatives. This includes capturing and analyzing relevant data in support of publishing Children's Health System of Texas (CHST) results.
Ensures that project design / methodology, investigation, department timelines, and goals are met. Responsible for publication of research conducted within Health Equity.
Responsibilities :
- Assists leadership with execution of Health Equity initiatives aligned with strategy and vision
- Reviews literature; develops protocols; extracts, analyzes, and interprets data for health equity (outcomes measurement).
- Systematically applies and teaches the science of Health Equity research to internal and external stakeholders as it relates ongoing projects.
- Establishes, measures and tracks organizational health equity indicators / dashboards
- Provides oral and written reports, presentations, executive summaries, and other deliverables as assigned, on objectives achieved, services rendered, impact to customers and status updates
- Identifies issues, problems, and opportunities; compares data from different sources to draw conclusions; recommends a course of action or appropriate solutions.
- Interprets and presents findings from projects to appropriate committees of the hospital and medical staff
- Ensures that relevant work is documented and reported within the organization and externally as appropriate.
- Assures that the work conducted is documented and reported within the organization and externally as appropriate.
- Participates in a national network of Health Equity professionals, sharing best practices, tools and materials while participating in ongoing communication activities and capacity-building peer exchanges.
- Provides coaching on health equity science, dashboards and indicators for leadership team
- Develops and presents health equity research results from inception to end for hospital and national activities (e.g., lectures / posters)
This is a full-time position.
How You’ll Be Successful :
WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least 1 year data analysis / statistical analysis experience Required
- Experience in Health Equity or Public Health preferred
- Research Design / Publication and grant writing experience preferred
EDUCATION
- Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required
- Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Required
