Meet the team :

The Systems and Solutions organization at Dexcom is searching for a highly experienced and motivated embedded software engineer with deep knowledge of cybersecurity to help improve our CGM’s end-to-end system architecture, design, development, security, and performance.

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the System team, as well as the larger Dexcom Cybersecurity, Hardware, Software, and Advanced Technology teams.

You will make a big impact by creating great products that improve the health of millions of people around the world.

Where you come in :

You will be involved in the research and design of hardware products and features by collaborating with various cross-functional teams and creating early-stage proof-of-concept prototypes.

You will be part of the team responsible for the end-to-end performance of the CGM system that includes the transmitter, receiver, phones / watches, and third-party partner devices and services.

You are the subject matter expert of embedded firmware sub-system design and cybersecurity architecture that leadership will rely on when decision time comes.

You will work with cybersecurity engineers, software developers, system integrators and testers to ensure the system works as expected and meets our QA standards.

What makes you successful :

7+ years embedded software development experience.

Strong coding skills in bare metal C programming for ARM microcontrollers.

Proficient in using Make and GCC cross compilers.

Knowledge of wireless communication protocols, particularly Bluetooth and BLE.

Good understanding of secure boot and the cryptography, including symmetric and asymmetric encryption methods and digital signing algorithms.

Passionate about solving engineering challenges.

Excellent communication skills to convey technical topics to a wide range of audiences.

Previous experience in the medical device or healthcare industry is a plus.

Working experience of the following is preferred :

PKI fundamentals and best practices

ARM CPU architecture including TrustZone

Coverity static code analysis tool

OWASP Embedded Security guidelines

Experience and Education

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or related field, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or a Master’s degree and 6-8 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.

Flex Workplace : Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs.

You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles / km).
