We are partnered with a private equity firm investing in high-growth opportunities across multiple sectors within tech.

We are seeking a Business Development Associate to help with identifying and sourcing new investment opportunities. This is a close-knit team with a flat structure, allowing you to make a significant impact on the growth of the firm.

This role is on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This is not an entry-level role. Candidates require work experience.*

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities across various sectors including B2B software, tech-enabled services, managed services, and industrial technology.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to pinpoint emerging trends, develop compelling investment strategies, and assess potential investment opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, executives, intermediaries, and industry professionals to enhance deal flow and sourcing capabilities.
  • Analyze financial statements and business metrics to assess the feasibility and potential returns of prospective investments.
  • Manage a pipeline targeting both platform investments and add-on acquisitions, utilizing CRM software to monitor progress and key metrics.
  • Provide analytical support and contribute insights to senior investment professionals, including preparing investment committee presentations and memos.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with M&A processes including sourcing and deal structuring.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a financial services setting (preferably in private equity, investment banking, or related sales / business development roles).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Innovative and adaptable approach to developing deal flow.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Passion for private equity and technology sectors.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
