- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to problem-solve, think independently and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of the facility, equipment and its systems
- Ability to prioritize maintenance tasks according to needs of residents and facilities
- Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis, despite possible frequent interruptions
- Ability to perform tasks with due consideration for residents in the vicinity
- Ability to work and cooperate well with other employees
- Willingness to work in other positions temporarily when necessary
- Experience in working in Post-Acute Care Settings (3-5 years)
- Familiar with the regulatory requirements Ohio Dept. of Health, RCF Licensure, NFPA
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physically capable of walking, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing and being on feet for long periods of time
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to go in and out of warm and cold temperatures without a problem
- Ability to operate equipment lawnmower, snow blower and other power tools
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to the Administrator
- Responsible to residents and sponsors
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with residents, families, staff and other visitors to the facility in a pleasant, respectful and courteous manner
- Responsible for preventative maintenance, repair and upkeep of buildings, equipment and grounds including lawn care and snow removal contracts
- Responsible for removal of trash from building in a timely manner
- Assists outside contractors with building layout, location of equipment and operating systems
- Complete Repair Requisitions slips and return to Director on a daily basis
- Attend daily Department Head meetings and monthly Resident Council
- Be on call for emergency repairs
- Assist Recreation Director as needed
- Assist Director with any miscellaneous tasks
- Supervise and schedule Housekeeping staff (potentially)
