JOB SUMMARY : The Medical Assistant provides clinical, clerical, and administrative tasks in an OMP outpatient clinic. Under the supervision and direction of a provider (physician or advanced practice clinician) or Medical Office Nurse Coordinator, the Medical Assistant performs duties that are consistent with his / her Medical Assistant education, training, experience and registration.

QUALIFICATIONS : Education

High school diploma / GED required

Experience

One year of experience in health care in an outpatient clinic preferred (experience specific to the type of clinic being hired for is preferred)

Licensure / Credentials

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire

Current attestation filed with the Department of Health and signed by a healthcare practitioner authorizing performance of tasks required within 60 days of hire OR Current Medical Assistant - Certified license issued by the WA State Department of Health, Interim Certification (subject to passing the required state-approved examination within 12 months or less of the date the interim certification was issued), or pending status (a license in pending status is acceptable only within the first 30 days of employment;

new employees with a 'pending' license may not participate in direct patient care)

You can also use the PTO PSL bank just like you use your PTO bank (meaning you do not have to be sick to use this bank).

  • Accrues based on hours worked, equivalent to 4 days per year for a full-time employee (pro-rated for part-time). Maximum of 480 hours allowed in bank.

Accrued time may be used to cover illnesses beginning the 4th scheduled consecutive day of work missed due to illness.
