Job Brief.
Our team is seeking a highly analytical, adaptable, and motivated COST ACCOUNTING CONTROLLER . This pivotal role within our finance team is responsible for ensuring accurate cost accounting practices and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
We require a seasoned professional with a solid background in job costing, construction / manufacturing industry experience, and proficiency in utilizing Construction ERP software.
Core Areas of Responsibility.
- Manage and oversee cost accounting functions for projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Utilize Construction ERP software (experience with platforms such as Viewpoint Vista, Procore, or CMiC to streamline processes, analyze data, and generate reports.
- Collaborate closely with finance and production departments to reconcile financial data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize project performance.
- Execute general ledger activities and perform adjusting journal entry postings as needed, leveraging your accounting degree and expertise.
- Demonstrate flexibility and an open-minded approach to problem-solving, recognizing that each project and situation requires a unique solution.
- Maintain a strong work ethic and patient demeanor while working under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver results.
- Showcase exceptional Excel talents to analyze financial data, create models, and communicate insights effectively.
Position Requirements
Skills You Possess.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of job costing experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Construction ERP software, with experience using platforms such as Viewpoint Vista, Procore or CMiC.
- Strong understanding of general ledger functions and adjusting journal entry posting skills.
- Ability to think critically and creatively, with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis techniques.
