Responsibilities
- Monitors work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction
- Monitors contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications
- Provides general inspection on construction labor and subcontracted tasks
- Provides report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and quantity of materials received
- Performs on-site material testing and verification
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
- Create and compile close out and final construction records documents for submission
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 4+ years of experience in construction management / inspection of roadways, bridges, utilities, grading and / or drainage
- Ability to obtain all 6 INDOT Certified Technician Courses in first year of employment
- Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
- Good communication skills and detail oriented
- Software experience with Microsoft Office and highly proficient with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principals, spreadsheets, and tools
