Responsibilities

  • Monitors work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction
  • Monitors contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications
  • Provides general inspection on construction labor and subcontracted tasks
  • Provides report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and quantity of materials received
  • Performs on-site material testing and verification
  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
  • Create and compile close out and final construction records documents for submission
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 4+ years of experience in construction management / inspection of roadways, bridges, utilities, grading and / or drainage
  • Ability to obtain all 6 INDOT Certified Technician Courses in first year of employment
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
  • Good communication skills and detail oriented
  • Software experience with Microsoft Office and highly proficient with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principals, spreadsheets, and tools
