Program Administrator (Director of Student Engagement & Support)

The USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is seeking a Program Administrator in the Office of Equity & Engagement.
The largest and oldest of the USC schools, USC Dornsife functions as the academic core of the university, offering courses and advancing knowledge across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
Responsive to the charge of USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts & Sciences to expand and sustain thriving scholarly and professional environments throughout the college, the Office of Equity & Engagement delivers timely, impactful, multifaceted, and empathetic support to our colleagues and students in the advancement of goals related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Duties and responsibilities :
Establishes and executes original and pre-existing inclusive programming for Dornsife students. Coordinates services and / or activities.
Prepares and facilitates workshops and trainings.
- Schedules meetings and events. Arranges with vendors for services. Ensures satisfactory follow through on assigned areas of responsibility.
- Engages students in critical conversations and learning opportunities that align with the core mission of Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, as well as with the aims of its Office of Equity & Engagement.
- Assists in the collection, interpretation, and application of DEIB data to improve student programming reach and impact and general office performance.
- Advises Dornsife leadership on DEIB matters, particularly where comprehensive and specific student populations are concerned.
- Coordinates with team members within the Office of Equity & Engagement, assisting as needed; partner offices within Dornsife;
DEIB counterparts in fellow colleges; and various entities within the greater USC community and beyond.
- Builds and maintains a thriving network of student-centered DEIB programming that exists within the larger college to amplify their impact and connect more Dornsife students and others to these communities and platforms.
- Contributes regularly to the development of engaging and enlightening content for office website, online library, speaker series, and social media accounts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Preferred qualifications :
- A masters degree, advanced credential, or equivalent experience in a relevant field, such as, but not limited to, education, youth studies, psychology, sociology, social work, human resources, or organizational leadership.
- Three to five years of experience in creating and delivering high-quality, DEIB-centered content and learning experiences for students.
- Some experience in program and events management for an educational institution.
- Basic experience with graphic design and digital marketing.
- High comfort level in utilizing digital marketing and communication platforms for email, texting, or social media strategies.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to collaborate to resolve appropriate solutions to problems, presenting alternatives, and implementing solutions.
- Ability to anticipate problems and take necessary action to eliminate or mitigate potential negative effects.
- Ability to be flexible in working independently as well as collaboratively with academic faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and volunteers.
- Initiative to organize and follow through with complex tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in an educational setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge.
Salary range : The annual base salary range for this position is $82,000 - $105,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidates work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
