Senior Interior Designer

Purpose : Maintain behaviors consistent with the Collective Ambition and lead all aspects of the interior design process for projects.

Develop and share expertise in interior design with the team and lead the management of design quality and execution. Qualifications : Minimum 8 years of interior design experience, undergraduate interior design degree (accredited program preferred) and certification or a path to NCIDQ certification (preferred). Expectations

Management Manage Projects : In collaboration with project manager, Manage the client and interior design staff through the project process on multiple projects, including large projects.

Manage and participate in interior design project work through the Understand, Discover, Concept, Develop, Document, Build, Measure and Share phases of projects.

Coordinate all aspects of the interior design project work with the client’s representative. Assist the PM and Design Leaders with managing the allocation of resources.

People Development Develop Self / 1A / 1B / 1C : Develop and advance direct reports. Manage the scorecards and development plans of direct reports.

Constantly and consistently communicate the firm’s vision and culture to direct reports. Promote the Collective Ambition through actions.

Leadership & Culture : Play a major role for a market initiative or BHDP wide initiative as defined in BHDP business plans.

Membership and participation in professional organizations or BHDP supported community organizations or events. Lead & be an advocate for BHDP Cultural events & activities

Business Development : Lead the design for clients and manage their expectations in alignment with the vision and goals.

Obtain new work from and expand the type of work BHDP does with existing clients. With Client Leader and CRM achieve sales goals for existing clients.

Foster a personal relationship with key client contacts. Lead the client and manage their expectations.

Financial Responsibility : Participate in projects to maintain or exceed an annual Net Revenue greater than $1,000,000 Participate in projects to maintain or exceed an annual Net Multiplier greater than 3.

5. Attain individual chargeability and project net multiplier goals per scorecard.

Personal Development : Facilitate project meetings, pin-ups and brainstorming sessions. Teach and Attend Baxter U classes in expertise and project focus areas.

Communicate the BHDP vision of culture and strategy through actions. Motivate and inspire direct reports by : Positively advancing the BHDP strategy and culture.

Developing and utilizing leadership skills that reinforce the BHDP culture.

Expertise : Build and share expertise in a Focus Market Build and share expertise in Design. Promote proactive design thinking through actions and engagement with the office and firm.

Demonstrate advanced technology (e.g., Revit, Sketch-up, Rhino) in interior design. Lead sustainability & WELL for the team.

Maintain and improve an extensive working knowledge of interior design, such as furniture, colors and materials, market trends, color trends, new materials innovations, lighting trends, sustainability trends, etc.

Research new product opportunities. Develop marketable, creative solutions to interior design problems in accordance with the vision, goals, program and the construction budget.

Monitor the detailing and specifications for interior design during the Document phase to ensure that work is consistent with the interior design concept.

Monitor the development of color, material and furniture solutions and mentor development of others in these areas. Monitor the development of furniture specifications and RFPs and mentor development of others in these areas.

Coordinate and monitor all work with interiors vendors and sub-contractors to meet the client’s specifications.

Design Process : Effectively incorporate the BHDP vision into all projects. Deliver the project story during the Share phase of all projects.

Direct the photo shoot at the completion of each project.
