DRIVER - LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION

Pierre Landscape is currently recruiting for a Driver for our San Marcos Office. This excellent opportunity would be best suited for an individual with extensive driving experience and an interest in the area of construction, preferably landscape construction.

The position requires a motivated and goal oriented individual.

A high level of verbal communication is required to ensure proper alignment of assignments and deliveries.

The purpose of this position is to implement, maintain, and follow company policies and procedures related to pick up and delivery of equipment and materials from various locations.

At the same time this position will ensure that all deliveries are done in a timely manner, follow traffic laws and work with the field staff to insure safety and productivity at time of delivery.

Core Job Responsibilities :

• Possess a Class A or B license from the state of California
• Take orders for new deliveries
• Drive long distances across various counties
• Operate a dump truck with trailer to deliver goods
• Operate Skid Steer, Mini Ex, Dingo, to load and offload from trailer
• Fastens chain or binders to secure load on trailer
• Manage drive time to maximize on time deliveries
• Fuel all equipment prior to delivery
• Load and unload equipment or Cargo not requiring a two man operation
• Ensure time cards are completed accurately and on time for processing
• Inspect truck and trailer before and after the trip, and report any defects found
• Complete Goals and Controls timely and accurately each month
• Report to Supervisor any incidents encountered on the road
• Follow all applicable traffic laws
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion
• Maintain log of trips

Additional Duties :

• Maintain a clean truck
• Inspect daily the fluids and truck condition
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs
• Report any equipment issues to the Yard Technician and Supervisor
• Inventories and inspects goods before and at time of delivery

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or trade school certification
• Valid Driver's License
• Operate Skid Steer, Mini Ex, Dingo, Power buggy to load and offload trailers is a plus
• John Deere and Toro experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Work environment is consistent with that of construction or heavy equipment yard and repair shop
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping

Work Environment

Field and Yard environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust and dirt.

Monday- Friday 5 : 00 AM- 1 : 30 PM and OT as needed
