Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :

• Driving DOT regulated 26' Box truck
• Perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights and mirrors prior to each leg of journey to ensure road readiness
• Follow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout trips
• Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary
• Visit weigh stations before and after packing to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by law
• Contribute to company data by honestly recording times of delivery and hours worked
• Assist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance
• Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
• Assist shipping and receiving loading and unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code.
• File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
• Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
• Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
• Open bales, crates and other containers.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
• Assist in counting of physical inventory.
• Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
• Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
• Prepare parcels for mailing.
• Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.
• Wear the proper safety equipment.

Required Knowledge & Skills :

• Required two years of experience working as a CDL driver with no legal or safety incidents on record
• Required DOT Medical Card
• Enthusiasm for our products and desire to deliver them safely and on time
• Possesses physical strength necessary to lift heavy boxes and crates and move them around the warehouse.
• Is capable of maintaining the stamina needed for long hours of physical labor.
• Must have strong work ethic; Professional attitude; Reliable
• Excellent communication skills to all levels of internal and external customers
• Must be well organized and a self-starter
• Ability to make decisions and be independent
• Attention to detail as well as accuracy
• Quick learner great at building relationships
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Basic Qualification & Requirements :

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 2 year in CDL Driver Role

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements :

• Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
• Adequate knowledge of warehouse data system
