Job Summary : The Forensic Interview Specialist (FIS) provides forensic interview services to alleged child abuse victims, child witnesses to violent crimes, and developmentally delayed adult victims of sexual assault.
Responsible to interview alleged victims of maltreatment in an emotionally sensitive, developmentally appropriate, and forensically sound manner.
Acquire vital detailed information form the alleged victim which is utilized in criminal, juvenile, and family court arenas.
Facilitate a multidisciplinary (MDT) approach to the investigative process through meeting with involved parties prior to and after the interview, as well as facilitating information sharing with MDT members.
Perform interviews at the bequest of Law Enforcement, Children & Family Services, and / or other agencies that are responsible for investigating allegations of abuse to these vulnerable populations.
Provides expert opinion and testifies in a court of law regarding allegations of abuse. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience : Master's Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, or Psychology Required. Child Forensic Interview Training Required.
Two years' experience working in child welfare preferred.
Knowledge and Skills : Knowledge of recording equipment used in the line of work; familiar with NCA Trak database, EPIC, and other databases and computer programs as related to assigned work.
- Able to : read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position;

- identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place / patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position;
discern temperature variances through touch. .
