JOBSUMMARY
Toprovide safe, reliable and cost-efficient vehicles by performingquality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs as well asperforming expert diagnosis and repair as required to preventbreakdowns on road, reduce vehicle downtime and improve total fleetreliability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performrequired inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles andequipment with in planned time tolerances to maximize the safety,reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the life cycle of thefleet.
- Perform FAI / CVI (Annual) inspections onall fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies,light-duty vehicles, and any other company-owned equipment inaccordance with all federal, state and local legal and regulatoryagencies.
Includes all state-required inspections andfrequencies).
- Perform quality preventivemaintenance inspections per company methods on all fleet vehiclesincluding tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates,light-duty vehicles, and any other company-ownedequipment.
- Perform quality maintenance repairsas required to maximize safety and reliability on all fleetvehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies,lift-gates, light-duty vehicles, and any company-ownedequipment.
- Address all Driver VehicleInspection Report write ups timely, andefficiently.
- Diagnose cause of any malfunctionand perform repairs to manufacturer specifications including butnot limited to engines, transmissions and clutches, drive-line,differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system,exhaust systems (including regeneration systems), intake systems,electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems and lift-gatehydraulic, mechanical and electricalsystems.
- Follow procedures includingdocumenting all work performed on workorders.
- Learn and develop efficiency in Syscocomputer programs
- Proficient in electricalmeter testing
- Knowledge of controls andelectric (DC (distribution center) lowvoltage
- Electric motor knowledge(DC)
- Complete electrical repairs and weldingprojects asneeded.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training
- Highschool diploma or GEDrequired
Experience
- 2-yearschool and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleetmaintenance and repair
- Current and validdriver'slicense.

- AnnualInspector Certification, Knowledge, Skills, andAbilities
- Brake Inspector Certification,Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- ASEcertifications; Automotive or Medium / Heavy Duty Trucks (Preferred,Not Required)

ProfessionalSkills
- Working knowledge ofcomputer-based diagnostic software for OEM's and componentmanufacturers
- Must provide own and provide alltools (diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by Sysco)necessary to perform all maintenance repair anddiagnostics
- Expert knowledge and skill of allvehicle systems and components
- Moderateknowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systemson all equipment
- Moderate knowledge and skillin Preventive Maintenance Inspections andrepair
- Basic knowledge and skill in welding andcutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)
- Basiccomputer skills and knowledge
- Moderateknowledge of all DOT (FMCSA) regulations
- Basicknowledge of OSHA safety regulations
- Basicknowledge of environmental regulations
