Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire a per diem Medical Assistant based in our Malvern, PA office!
Schedule : As needed : Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 : 30 PM. Monday and Thursday availability is required!
Job Summary :
The Certified Medical Assistant provides assistance to the Physician and Physician's Assistant with daily administrative and clinical duties.
- Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room. Directs patient to surgery scheduling and / or front desk for checkout.
- Maintains order, cleanliness, and inventory in the exam room, and prepares exam room for patients to enter.
- Cleans and autoclaves instruments.
- Provides and scans proper paperwork into the chart for Physician's review.
- Records vitals per Physician's request.
- Prepares injections for the Physician.
- Pulls up x-rays, MRI's, CT's, and various studies pertaining to the patient's exam.
- Assists patient with clothing when necessary.
- Disposes of bio hazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation, and replaces sharps containers when existing containers are full.
- Answers telephones in patient areas.
- Requests reports for various facilities for Physicians.
- Empties and restocks laundry.
- Scans appointment tracking to identify when patients are ready to be seen by the Physician and directs Physician in patient appointment order.
- Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative reports, dictations, and studies are present in the chart.
- Completes pre-certifications for MRI's, injectable, and other Physician orders as necessary.
- Scans information into patient record (including all Physician orders, prescriptions, etc. on the date of service.)
- Send Visco Injection authorization request to supplement pre-certification representative
- Covers other areas in the office when not assigned to a Physician.
- Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Qualifications :
- HS Diploma or GED
- Active National Medical Assistant Certification and CPR Certification
- Medical office procedures, and medical terminology knowledge
- Computer skills including MS office
