Under direct supervision, the Structural Designer will assist Structural Engineers with the preparation of building design analyses, plan preparation, and construction administration.
Projects may be located locally / regionally in addition to world-wide. Travel is not required for this position; however, it may be offered on occasion for project needs.
Spring and December 2024 college graduates are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must have valid US Citizenship to work on federal assignments* . MBI offers a hybrid / flexible working arrangement throughout the Northeast offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform structural engineering analysis and designs for various building types and materials.
- Perform calculations for building gravity and lateral structural systems in accordance with local building codes in both the US and international locations.
- Assist in the preparation of construction drawings.
- Assist in the construction administration phase of a project by reviewing shop drawings and responding to requests for information.
- Gain structural engineering knowledge of the International Building Code, various State Building Codes and Government required Unified Facilities Criteria.
- Gain structural engineering experience with the goal of attaining a professional engineer license.
- Other duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Candidate must have a . in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- 0 - 2 years of experience working in civil or structural engineering.
- Must be . certified prior to employment.
- Experience with STAAD Pro, RAM Structural System, ETABS, RISA, Microsoft Excel, MicroStation, and Revit are preferred.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills are preferred.

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $63,500 - $78,500. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
