Job Summary
The BIM Coordinator supports projects companywide by producing project information models. Design tools are used for model development, production of drawings, visualization, design analysis, quantity take-off, construction services and asset management integration.
The BIM Coordinator promotes the benefits of BIM modeling to the company and keeps up to date with advancements in building technology.
Reports to : BIM / VDC Supervisor & Director of Preconstruction

Duties & Responsibilities
Translate 2D drawings and specifications into a complete 3D model for LOD 100-500 projects across the company for efficiency and productivity gains.
Extracts quantities and identifies clash detection and resolution. Develop accurate construction drawings, produce prefab and installation documents, and produce as-builts.
Ensures compliance with standards, codes, and specifications and checks for quality and accuracy of models.
- Coordinates and manages multiple BIM projects and workflows as needed. Provides excellent customer service to all parties while meeting work deadlines and needs as they arise.
- Responsible for company- wide BIM standards, implementation, and enforcement.
- Works closely with and supports estimating, project management, operations, and fabrication teams to design and implement CAD and BIM models.
- Lead and participate in meetings to train, identify and promote modeling tools across the company. Drive the implementation of digital information plans and strategies.
- Manage supporting software licenses and hardware that provide design tools.
- Research and implement new technology. Keep the organization informed about best practices in BIM software and keep up to date with advancements in building technology.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated experience using and supporting the following applications : Revit, Revizto, Navisworks, and Evolve MEP.
- 5+ years BIM design and coordination in 3D modeling software.
- Associate degree / certifications in CAD / 3D drafting a plus.
- Electrical / Construction industry experienced required.
- Strong sense of urgency with resolving production problems thereby meeting user expectations.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and people skills
- A motivated team player to work collaboratively as part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Strong presentation skills with ability to train and present technical data in a logical concise manner.
