Position Summary : The Maintenance Mechanic trouble shoots and provides immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitates change-over of production lines.
This position handles the facility’s maintenance also. If the manufacturing plant and distribution center have an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), the Maintenance Mechanic provides immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to : Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipmentExecute maintenance work schedule provided by supervisorOverhaul and install new equipmentOperates newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairsRebuild and fabricate partsPerform equipment change-overs and production line set upsRecord repairs, maintenance, parts, and materials usedUtilize work orders for the requisition of new parts and materials as necessary through use of a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system.
Ensure the safety needs are given a top priority in operations support and work execution. Some examples are Arc Flash / Shock Hazard safety, confined space entry, Lockout / tagout ( LOTO), hazardous materials, hand tool safe use, etc.
Perform maintenance inclusive of the ASRS if a manufacturing plant and distribution center have such a systemMaintain clean and safe work areaOther projects or duties as assignedRequired Skills and Experience : High School Diploma or GED and 1 to 2 plus years of industrial maintenance experienceExperience within high-speed industrial environmentDemonstrated mechanical and technical aptitudeBasic computer skills and ability to use a computer system and associated softwareAbility to follow manufacturers’ specifications and schematicsUse personal hand tools on the job.
