The compensation for this appointment will range from $19.00 to $24.00 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment.
Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
Position Summary Information
Summary
Performs a variety of office support and / or clerical duties for the Facilities & Planning Services department, such as data entry, composing documents and reports, e-mail correspondence, relaying and resolving routine telephone or walk-up inquiries, maintaining records, and assisting with coverage of the front desk by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide general administrative / clerical support by preparing correspondence, reports, scheduling meetings, and / or other clerical duties.
- Perform data entry tasks and update electronic spreadsheets and databases.
- Process campus utility bills : work directly with utility providers to initiate and cancel service, and to rectify any issues with service or billing.
- Process gas usage log monthly and inform Accounting of charges to other departments.
- Present a positive and supportive image of California Baptist University.
- Make copies of correspondence or other printed materials.
- Order and maintain office supplies, schedule office equipment maintenance.
- Process and distribute incoming mail for the Department; receive deliveries, inspect for damage, and facilitate pick-up by ordering department.
- Provides back-up support in maintaining Customer Pest Sighting Log as needed.
- Complete special projects under the direction of the Associate Director - Business Administration.
- Maintain regular communication with department managers and technicians over radio as needed.
- Staff and assist as needed in providing customer service to department front desk; including telephone calls and walk-in customers.
- Assist with accepting and assigning work order requests through Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Must be able to work in a very busy office environment.
- A valid California Driver license is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard, or other office equipment.
Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.

Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, or unpleasant odors.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud at times. Work normally performed in a typical interior / office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and / or Experience
Vocational / technical training in a directly related craft area with one to three years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
